Hope Quallo, RN, PMHCNS-BC, CGP, is our REDO Program Coordinator and Administrator. A Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist for over 25 years, Hope specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Women's Issues. She is a Certified Group Therapist and has pioneered in providing group supervision to other mental health providers in a group format. She has published articles on Eating Disorders, Relaxation, and Group Therapy and has presented at National and International Conferences. Hope retired in 2005 from Strong Health where she worked as the Nursing Coordinator and psychotherapist at Strong Ties. She maintains a private practice and continues to train other therapists in Group Therapy leadership.
Amy Loblaw, ATR-BC, LCAT, is a registered Art Therapist co-facilitating the Thursday Evening Binge Eating Disorder Group. Amy has been leading this group for the past three years and provides art experiences to help enhance group members' exploration of issues. After receiving her BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology from Alfred University, Amy received her MS in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. Additionally, Amy works as the clinical supervisor for the Early Childhood Program at Crestwood Children's Center.
Amy Spitzer, MSW, ACSW received her BS degree from Nazareth College, and her Master's degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. She has facilitated our Binge Eating Group since 1990. She worked with emotionally disturbed children and their families at Crestwood Children's Center in Outpatient services from 1985-1997, and has been a School Social Worker since 1997. She currently works in an elementary school and oversees Preschool Special Education Services.
Sarah Beren, AAS, BS, received an Associate's degree in Graphic Design from RIT, and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Nazareth College. She is currently in the final stages of pursing a Master's degree in Art Therapy. Sarah co-facilitated the Binge Eating Group as part of her internship experience and in 2012 joined the Anorexia/Bulimia Support Group as facilitator. She has training in psychotherapy as well as the use of the creative arts, which provides group members with an alternate form of self-expression. Sarah has training in Chemical Dependency Counseling as well as a special interest in medical issues and body image.
Shannon Halligan, LCAT, is a Licensed Art Therapist facilitating the Anorexia/Bulimia Group on Tuesday Evenings. She received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Ithaca College, and a Master's degree in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. Shannon has worked with a wide variety of groups and individuals, specializing in Art Therapy, Play Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She currently works in private practice and provides clinical supervision to professionals seeking NYS Licensure in Creative Arts Therapy. |
