Who We Are

Hope Quallo, RN, PMHCNS-BC, CGP, is our REDO Program Coordinator and Administrator. A Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist for over 25 years, Hope specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Trauma, and Women’s Issues. She is a Certified Group Therapist and has pioneered in providing group supervision to other mental health providers in a group format. She has published articles on Eating Disorders, Relaxation, and Group Therapy and has presented at National and International Conferences. Hope retired in 2005 from Strong Health where she worked as the Nursing Coordinator and psychotherapist at Strong Ties. She maintains a private practice and continues to train other therapists in Group Therapy leadership.

 
 

Thomas Christensen, MS, NCC has a master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Development. He is a National Certified Counselor and a professional member of the American Counseling Association. Tom has over 20 years experience treating eating disorders, mental illness, and chemical dependence. His specialty is in facilitating peer and family support. He has been with REDO since 1985 and additionally served a four year term as Chairman of our organization. Tom has frequently been invited to present on eating disorders and mental health to schools, colleges, conferences, and as a member of our Speaker’s Bureau. He has been interviewed on local TV and radio programs, as well as presented nationally at four annual conferences of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Tom currently leads our anorexia/bulimia support group on Tuesday Evenings.

Amy Loblaw, ATR-BC, LCAT, is a registered Art Therapist co-facilitating the Thursday Evening Binge Eating Disorder Group. Amy has been leading this group for the past three years and provides art experiences to help enhance group members’ exploration of issues.After receiving her BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Psychology from Alfred University, Amy received her MS in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. Additionally, Amy works as the clinical supervisor for the Early Childhood Program at Crestwood Children’s Center.

 
 

Amy Spitzer, MSW, ACSW received her BS degree from Nazareth College, and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Syracuse University. She has facilitated our Binge Eating group since 1990. She worked with emotionally disturbed children and their families at Crestwood Children’s Center in Outpatient services from 1985-1997, and has been a School Social Worker since 1997. She currently works in an elementary school and oversees Preschool Special Education Services.
